Place is low quality Chinese . Ordered carry out , they didn't ask for my name or phone number. Got there and it wasn't ready. Overall atmosphere was poor. Won't order ever again

We frequent China Town about three to four times per month. It is a family run Chinese take out restaurant that also has a dine in option. Outside of Friday or Saturday around dinner you can sit down no problem. Most guests (including myself) opt for takeout. Today I ordered the general tzo dinner combination (rice and eggroll). I went with white rice over the fried rice the combo usually comes with. I was told it would be ready in ten minutes and it was ready by the time I got there fifteen minutes later. When I got home I was very pleased, lots of food for about $9. Broccoli appeared freshly steamed, fresh sticky white rice, crispy eggroll, and way more chicken than I could possibly eat. Easily enough for two. It was hot, fresh, and tastes great as usual. Top pics here are General Zso, yellow curry chicken, Kung Pao chicken, and the won ton soup.

The worst service, made on line order and had an email showing the order was received but the person at the counter cared less and acted like she knew nothing about on line order, also asked for minor thing like hot mustard, said it was in the bag, not so, I go back once a year to try it again and it's the same crappy Service. No more.

I was visiting a friend at a convalescent home near the corner or Drake and Maple Roads and he asked me to bring him some Chinese food. So we decided to have lunch together and I opened up Google Earth and looked for restaurants close to his location. I found Maple Chinatown just west of Rt. 5 right off Maple Road and just north on Welch Road. They had a website and it looked a lot like a takeout joint, so that fit with my needs and decided to give it a try. The small restaurant is in a strip mall with parking right out front. It is primarily a takeout place, but they do have some tables too so you can eat there if you wish. When I go to a new Chinese takeout place, I don't expect much and I usually do not take a lot of chances. So I ordered what my friend wanted for him and that was General Tso's Chicken and I just got an order of Roast Pork Egg Foo Young for me. I also ordered a couple of Egg rolls too. The food was pretty good. The full order of Egg Foo Young was still hot and tasty when I got to the convalescent home and the sauce which was served up in a separate container was hot too. It came with a nice side order of steamed white rice. The Egg Rolls were nicely loaded with chicken meat and surprisingly were not greasy at all. My friend enjoyed his G T chicken and I must say, it was a very generous portion. He couldn't even finish it. It also came with a side of steamed white rice. They also offer combination plates which are probably smaller and definitely cost less too. Now I put this kind of a place in the "fuel" category and not the "cuisine" category, but it was tasty fuel, reasonably priced and it was all made fresh to order. There is no steam table at this place. They also advertise healthy cuisine and minimize the amount of oils they use and they use no MSG. That did come through in the final product. Nothing was greasy and there was none of that telltale MSG aftertaste either. The menu itself, which you can see on their website, including the prices, has a wide variety of all the Americanized Chinese standards, and they do have some of the hot stuff on the menu. Those spicy dishes are marked with a chili pepper. Because the young lady at the cash register was probably not a native English speaker, she was a bit shy and did not converse very much. In fact, her manner was kind of cold. A smile would have gone a long way here, but I never saw one from her either to me or the others that had placed takeout orders. She was not unfriendly. She just was not particularly friendly either. But we enjoyed our repast and it didn't cost a lot either.

I never complain about food but the bourbon chicken was so tough I thought I was eating leather.

I've eaten at this place multiple times and more often than not it's been a pleasant experience. Recently, they made some changes to their menu and got rid of their chicken lettuce wraps aka MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE THING THEY HAD. Huge bummer for me!!! Aside from that, I've tried a little bit of everything on the menu. Chicken dishes are good, noodle dishes are a little bland, 95% sure their bourbon chicken is actually pork, and their "spicy" items are more on the medium/mild side in my opinion, BUT I am a fan of very spicy food so I my review could be a little skewed there. Staff is relatively friendly. I will say, for some reason I have always been afraid to look into their kitchen and this fear was reinforced just the other day when I witnessed one of the cooks arranging food in a takeaway container with his bare hands. I can only hope he had washed prior, but still icky to think about. Overall decent food at a decent price.

Food is bland!! Called in a carry out they said 15 mins. Went and waited there for another 20 mins. Unorganized too, the 2 guys ahead of me placed and paid for an online order and she had no clue.

Love it!! Always good, always fresh, and always fast. Soup is very good, order the spring rolls over egg rolls, and spicy is spicy!!! Seafood is fresh and the chicken dishes satisfy.

Two and a half stars to be exact. Ordered takeout the day after thanksgiving (who wants to cook after thanksgiving?) I arrived 15 minutes after we placed the order and the woman taking orders/ manning the cashier was a frazzled mess. The phone was ringing off the hook and she was trying to juggle taking orders and bagging up orders for customers waiting. 30 minutes later our order was ready. The food was fine, nothing special but it is on the healthier side as they do not use msg or tons of oil so not exactly a bad thing. The almond chicken, Shanghai beef, and Chicken Subgum were all cooked perfectly. Not over seasoned. Egg and spring rolls were fine. The dumplings were disgusting and went directly in the trash. Overall impressions - clean, decent food, fairly priced -need to work on service a bit. If you know you are swamped with orders do no tell people food will be ready in 15 minutes.

I would not recommend this place for any egg roll lovers. By far the worse egg roll I have ever had. The food and hot & sour soup were pretty good, very clean place as well.

If you like it spicy go 2 levels above what you normally would order and it should be spicy enough for you. Large amount of food but well worth it, especially the next day for lunch!

Their food is bland, but they cook their meat perfectly. Very tender. It keeps me going back. Most chinese restaurants over cook their chicken, not these chefs. I usually do have to wait a while even when i call ahead to order. But i will keep going back.. They are very friendly and appreciative for the business. Hard to understand their english, but what chinese restaurant isnt. Also good food for the price.... Very friendly

I have to admit that I pretty much order the same thing every time, the shrimp in garlic sauce lunch special. However, I also have to admit that I will pretty much plan my day around going there for lunch. My car is my office, and I eat all over the Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties, and -- when possible -- I do arrange my schedule so I can have lunch here. $6 for a lunch this good is a great deal. Nicer seating than most of this type of carry out place usually has. Only drawback is that they barely speak English.

Our little hole in the wall hide away. My man half and I pop in here for a late night dinner, I know I can come in sweats, no makeup and enjoy some yummy fresh American-Chinese food. Although it is prominently a carry out hot spot we all ways make ourselves at home by eating in. The tables are a little rocky, the drinks are canned and in a cooler, your food is served on paper plates with plastic utensils... I love the nonchalant vibe. I tend to get the general toa's chicken with rice and a hot and sour soup, the man usually gets the sweet and sour chicken with rice and a wonton soup and we get a crab ragoon appetizer. If this is wrong then I don't want to be right! Their meat is always cooked perfectly, never dry or overdone like other places, always just enough sauce... Never drenched like most places. The man half is a crab ragoon fanatic, let's just say these are in the top 5! My favorite part though is the hot and sour soup, perfect blend of spices, consistency and flavor. It clears your sinuses right out! We love this little laid back place!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
